“What if someone says he has only broken the Commandment about lying?”

Committing even one sin, one time, is enough to send someone to hell (see James 2:10). But we know that every person has a multitude of sins. For starters, the person has failed to love God with all of his heart, soul, mind, and strength. He has dishonored his parents’ good name by being a liar. Besides that, you can’t trust anything he says because he is a self-admitted liar. However, I usually say, “There’s bad news. All liars will have their part in the lake of fire” (Rev. 21:8). While telling “white lies” may not seem serious to us, it shows a heart that is willing to deceive, and proves that “the heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked” (Jer. 17:9). I explain that lying is very serious to God. The Bible says that “lying lips are an abomination to the LORD.”

Proverbs 12:22 Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, But those who deal truthfully are His delight.

  1. Carlos Fernandez says:

So, when Jesus said that all liars will have their part in the lake of fire, wasn’t he lying?

  2. Carlos Fernandez says:

I mean, its patently not true, right? Everyone lies, but not everyone goes to hell. Jesus was not speaking the truth. Can I get a witness?
