An ex-criminal who has become a police officer.

Jesus quoted this verse in regard to the persecution that comes to those who live godly in Christ Jesus (see Matt. 10:35,36; Luke 12:53). The gospel is a sword that divides us from this evil world. When someone becomes a Christian, he is like an ex-criminal who has become a police officer. He has betrayed the evil cause of this world and sided with the opposition. However, when friends and family turn against us, we have the strong consolation that God is our Father. He will lift us up when we fall and be a light to us in the darkest of hours (see vv. 7,8).

Micah 7:6 For son dishonors father,
Daughter rises against her mother,
Daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law;
A man’s enemies are the men of his own household.

    Never realized that Matthew 10;33 is a quote from the old testament, see below.

    A former criminal who became a police officer… How about a current criminal who wants to be President (Hitlery).
