‘Preach about the meek and lowly Jesus.’

“When I pastored a country church, a farmer didn’t like the sermons I preached on hell. He said, ‘Preach about the meek and lowly Jesus.’ I said, ‘That’s where I got my information about hell.’” Vance Havner

Luke 3:17 His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather the wheat into His barn; but the chaff He will burn with unquenchable fire.

So here you’ve choosen to interpret the bible metaphorically rather than literally. You obviously take “chaff” to mean sinners burning in hell.

How are we supposed to know when to take the bible literally and when metaphorically.

It is an honest question and it would be dishonest of you Ray and certainly against the bible’s own instructions under 1st Peter 3:15 to be ready with an answer for your faith, to just ignore me, as you’ve done to all my previous comments on your blog.

Alot of people don’t like to talk about hell because they’ve been told that the burning is for eternity, we are mortal and the wicked will be burned up root and branch! There are only two choices everlasting life and second death! Unquenchabke fire just means it cannot be extinguished until it’s done its work!
