“Did Jesus love Gentiles and Samaritans?”

Skeptics argue that, because Jesus told His disciples not to go to certain groups of people, this proves He didn’t love Gentiles or Samaritans—which contradicts the command to “love your neighbor” (Matt. 22:39).

However, the plan of God was to preach the gospel to the Jews first before taking it to the Gentiles. This wasn’t because of a lack of love and concern for them, but because the Jews already had the Law which prepared them for the message of grace.

Matthew 10:5 These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying: “Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans.
